The Pucayaquillo Waterfall is located in the Shapaja district just 22 km south of the city of Tarapoto. The route follows the banks of the mighty Huallaga river surrounded by beautiful landscapes. In addition, on the tour you can see the spectacular confluence of the Huallaga river with the Mayo river.
To get to the waterfall, you have to walk for 45 minutes. Upon reaching the waterfall after a break it is possible to take a refreshing swim in its natural pool. Afterwards, the return walk is undertaken to then have lunch in Shapaja and finally return to Tarapoto.
